Video generation

How to animate a photo

A video from your picture: first frame, motion description and aspect ratio.

To turn a photo into a video, add it to the “First frame” field (on some models — “Reference”) in the video form.

  1. Upload a photo from your device or pick one from “My generations”.
  2. Describe the motion: what should happen in the frame and how the camera moves. No need to describe the photo itself — the model can see it.
  3. Choose the duration and resolution.
  4. Run the generation.

Aspect ratio

Once an image is attached, the aspect ratio switch is hidden: the video’s aspect ratio follows the image. Want a vertical video? Upload a vertical photo.

Photos of people

Some models reject frames with photorealistic faces. Seedance 2.0 does not accept such frames, and Seedance 2.5 may reject them sometimes — the form warns you in advance. For portraits we recommend Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0. If a model rejects a photo with a face, the credits are refunded and it does not count as a violation.

Only upload photos of yourself or of people who have given consent — see the Content Rules. Overview page: Animate a photo.
